You Should Drink Alcohol Before Your Class

I was always shy when it came to speaking up in class. If I did not have to saying anything in front of my classmates, I would not. I never liked speaking up in class because I did not want to say the wrong thing in front of the teacher or my classmates and be embarrassed. I especially did not like when classes I took, had a grade specifically for participation, which contributed to your final grade. With participation grades, I had no choice but to contribute to discussions in class.

Participation grades are a good and a bad thing. If you are serious about your grades, participation marks can motivate you to prepare for class by completing your readings and forming opinions to share in class, which can help you to understand the material for future assignments and tests, giving you a better chance of getting a satisfactory final grade. For introverts like myself, who wanted to obtain good marks in class, I dreaded the participation marks, as I had to go against my natural personality in order to try to earn the grade that I wanted. I wanted to keep my head down and learn quietly, but I had to put myself out there and contribute to any discussions that were happening during class.

Alcohol helped me to achieve good marks in my university classes. In particular, alcohol helped me to earn my participation marks, raising my final grade for a number of my classes.

I had an abnormal amount of night classes that required participation, so before my 7pm classes, I would go to the campus bar with a few of my classmates and have a few beers. The alcohol helped me lower my inhibitions before class. When I went to class, I was able to contribute constructively to the discussions that my professor would table to the students. If you are going to drink before class to raise your participation grade, it is crucial that you properly prepare for the topics of the class. You need to complete your readings, answer any questions that the professor has assigned to you before class, and prepare points of discussion to share with your fellow classmates. If you drink before class and do not complete your preparations for class, then you can risk sounding as if you do not know what you are taking about and you will not attain those precious participation marks. When I was contributing to discussions in class, I made sure that I was prepared, along with the liquid courage, I had a reduced fear in embarrassing myself in front of the class, and I felt confident in expressing my opinions.

My parents always disapproved of my drinking, but in this case, alcohol had a positive effect on me. It is safe to say that alcohol helped me to obtain my university degree!
