While I was working in one of my old jobs years ago, I remembered having a conversation with one of my coworkers. This was during the time at my old job when I was taking on more and more responsibilities at the company but not getting the financial compensation to match the increased responsibility (and this company was notorious for paying their employees as little as possible). I do not remember the specifics of the conversation, but I asked him why he does not try to earn more money working somewhere else, or fight for a raise in this company. He is a smart and hard worker, and certainly deserves the financial reward for his contributions. I distinctly remember his answer to this day.

Cultured Individual Has Its Own Instagram
This is just an update post to tell you that the Cultured Individual blog now has its own dedicated Instagram page. This is going to be the place where I can post short-form thoughts that do not really belong as a Twitter/Mastodon post, but do not really warrant a full blog post. I am also going to post passages from classic blog posts from this blog, and give additional context/thoughts on those passages.
In the future, I will post recent and classic pictures from my travels and talk about my times and experiences at these locations. That is my current plan with this Instagram page, though things may change.
Please check out my new page here.
Thank you for your continued support!

I (Briefly) Went Back To University + Winery Drinking
I made a brief stop to somewhere where I have not been in over ten years earlier this summer. I went back to my old university (Brock University) for a visit, and so much has changed from when I graduated back in 2013. I wish I had more time to properly explore my old alma mater, but I was able to do a quick run-through of the university to see what was new and what was still the same.

Punta Cana Highlights 2024
This is my more informal companion post to my recent review of the RIU Palace Bavaro resort in Punta Cana where I talk about my experiences within this resort. I planned for this to be more of a relaxing vacation for me, as I did not partake in many excursions outside the resort. In fact, I only left the resort once during my trip for “shopping”, which meant an impromptu trip to KFC. Regardless, there are things on this trip that I would like to share.
