Cultured Individual's 2023 Recap And Plans For 2024

The year of 2023 is finally coming to an end, and it is time for me to reflect on the year I had in general, as well as what I wrote on this blog. I would say that 2023 was a memorable year for me, with my biggest highlight being my European mega-vacation touring Italy, Croatia, Greece, and Turkey. I was able to play my fair share of video games this year as well and wrote some good reviews. There were some events and stories this year and I want to talk about those as well.

My 'Best-Of 2022' Post And General Chatter For 2023

When I was a more active user on Twitter many years ago, at the end of every year, I would write a few tweets about my year-to-date and my hopes for the next year. This continued in a similar fashion with my "best-of" blog posts at the end of the year. It is that time of the year for me to reflect on what went on in my life in 2022, and to think about what 2023 will look like for me as well. I think 2022 was overall a good year for me. It had the highlighted hallmarks for me in a year: the big job changes and the big vacation. There were also other memorable moments for me in 2022 that I have also highlighted in my blog. I will talk about all of that and more on this post.

It is that bi-annual time of year again where I look at the posts I have written over the past six months. I was able to go on a mini-vacation, but I wrote about the usual things (such as video games) as well. Here are my highlights from the past six months.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing global protests against systemic racism is creating a period of unrest in the world. It is the month of July, and because I have been maintaining an overall consistent schedule of one blog post a week, I thought I would do a recap post on some of my memorable blog posts between January and June of 2019. It is similar to the end-of-the-year post I created for my 2018 blog posts. I did think about waiting until December to do a full look-back on everything from 2019, but I decided to split it into two parts, so I can squeeze more content out of my blog. How shameful of me. In the first half of 2019, I achieved some of the goals that I set out for myself in my 'Best of 2018' post, and I will share some things that I would still like to do for the rest of 2019.

2018 'Best-Of' Posts and Hopes for 2019

2018 has been a breakthrough year for the blog.

After my creative lull in 2016 and 2017 where I would only post on the blog a few times a year, I went back to regularly writing on my blog after my Mexico vacation in June. The Mexico vacation served as a timely reminder that I have created a platform to share my experiences, and oiled my creative juices. I posted routinely from June to now, and I would like to use this post to revisit some of the posts I wrote this year in order to discuss the post's reception and to offer additional thoughts.
