A "Little Canada" In Canada On Canada Day

On Canada Day, I spent some time at Little Canada, which is an attraction that recently opened its doors a couple of years ago at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto. Little Canada is a showcase of miniature-scale dioramas of various locations in Canada, including Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, and beyond. Before I talk about my experience at Little Canada, I will share a personal anecdote of mine.

When I was a kid, I went to a place called Cullen Gardens in Whitby. Cullen Gardens was a botanical garden, which also had a miniature village of their own that people can look at. When I was walking through the Little Canada attraction, I felt like I went back in time walking through the walkways of Cullen Gardens and looking at all the miniature buildings, trains, and people (before I inevitably went splashing in the pool). Cullen Gardens closed in 2006, and part of the land has been repurposed to become a Nordic spa of all things.

What did I think about the Little Canada attraction? I honestly thought it was impressive. The attention to detail of each exhibit, from the buildings and vehicles, right down to the little miniature figures were mind-blowing. I especially enjoyed the exhibits of the Niagara Region, Toronto, and Ottawa, and I can spot little easter eggs of each exhibit that highlight each cities' cultures. There were also exhibits of Quebec and the east coast of Canada that were wonderful to look at as well. There are still exhibits of Montreal, the Prairies, British Columbia, and the North of Canada that are under construction and are set to open in the coming years. To create an entire large-scale miniature exhibit takes about a year to complete with many working hours dedicated to the creation.

I would recommend coming to check out the Little Canada attraction. Because this is a relatively new attraction, it was not as busy with people as I thought there would be. Admission costs around $35-$40 CAD depending on if you buy a timed ticket or not. I think that is a reasonable price considering the amount of effort that goes into creating these exhibits. Once all of the exhibits are fully open, I will definitely come back to check them out.

I have added some pictures and videos below, but this does not paint the whole picture of the attraction itself. I encourage you to go and check out the attraction yourself, as you may find something that no one else may not be able to find.
