When I bought my PS5, there was a game pre-installed on the system called “Astro’s Playroom”, which was a tech demo for the PS5 controller. Outside of showing off the features of the controller, Astro’s Playroom was a pretty good game with its platforming and PlayStation secrets. At the time, I thought to myself “I would love to play a full-fledged Astro game”.

Random Thoughts: Canada vs. Suriname

DISCLAIMER: I wrote part of this post on the day of the match between Canada and Suriname at BMO Field. I know I am late on this considering the match happened weeks ago but I was trying to weave this match experience with some mental health thoughts, but I could not make it work.

Is Bluesky the new home for me?

It is time to give up Twitter for good.

I wrote a post back in April 2023 about the state of Twitter on the heels of Elon Musk's acquisition of the company and my future on the site. I said at that time that I was going to continue to use Twitter, but I wanted to keep my eyes and ears open on exploring a credible and useful alternative to the site. It has come to the point that the only thing I will ever use Twitter for is to post links to my latest blog posts. The issues with the number of bots, abuse, and hatred on Twitter is now too much for me, and I have decided to move my short-form thought-posting elsewhere. I have deleted Twitter off my phone, which is insane for me to even type here.

Pay Me In Work Experience, Please!

While I was working in one of my old jobs years ago, I remembered having a conversation with one of my coworkers. This was during the time at my old job when I was taking on more and more responsibilities at the company but not getting the financial compensation to match the increased responsibility (and this company was notorious for paying their employees as little as possible). I do not remember the specifics of the conversation, but I asked him why he does not try to earn more money working somewhere else, or fight for a raise in this company. He is a smart and hard worker, and certainly deserves the financial reward for his contributions. I distinctly remember his answer to this day.

Cultured Individual Has Its Own Instagram

This is just an update post to tell you that the Cultured Individual blog now has its own dedicated Instagram page. This is going to be the place where I can post short-form thoughts that do not really belong as a Twitter/Mastodon post, but do not really warrant a full blog post. I am also going to post passages from classic blog posts from this blog, and give additional context/thoughts on those passages.

In the future, I will post recent and classic pictures from my travels and talk about my times and experiences at these locations. That is my current plan with this Instagram page, though things may change.
