Media Gallery - Montreal Biodome

On my weekend in Montreal, I needed something to do on the Sunday before I took the train back home the following day. I was deciding between going to the Biodome and going to the Biosphere, but after some brief online research, I decided to go see some animals at the Biodome. I am not much of a zoo person, but I needed to do something to pass the time. It was back to Viau station and the Montreal Olympic complex where the Biodome was.

At the Biodome, there are distinct biomes/ecosystems that you can walk through, and the first biome I went to see was the rainforest. The biome was humid and I was sweating a lot, but I got to see quite a few animals including parrots, crocodiles, and capybaras. The capybaras were way bigger than I imagined them to be. I would also see some scarlet ibis flying around as well.

The next biome was the maple forest, which had some beavers and ducks, but there was more of an emphasis on aquatic life, including pike and sturgeon. It was difficult to get good pictures and video because there were many children at this attraction checking out all of the animals.

The most popular biome at the Biodome is the polar biome where you can check out a colony of penguins, as well as some puffins. They were cool to see up close.

That is all I have for the Montreal Biodome. I did not find the offerings to be all that impressive, but this is an attraction that would be more suitable for children.
