Spending The Day At Universal Studios Florida

I already talked about my time in the Simpsons area at Universal Studios Florida but I want to talk about my time exploring the rest of the park. I have not been to Universal Studios Florida since I was a child, maybe around 9-10 years old. Over 20 years later, I find myself back at the same park. There has been so much that has changed at the park, but there are rides that still exist that I rode as a child that sorely need either a re-brand or have a brand-new ride at the same site. Here are the pictures I took as I show you around what was happening on a busy Tuesday at Universal Studios Florida.

For the record, I paid around $120 USD for admission, which is much cheaper than going to a Disney theme park, but still extremely pricey.

The three rides that I remember since I was a child that still exists are the E.T. ride, the Men in Black ride, and The Mummy roller coaster. All those rides need some sort of makeover or need replacement entirely.

One area I was impressed with at Universal is the Harry Potter area. For the record, I am not much of a Harry Potter fan; I have only read a couple of books and seen a couple of the movies, but I can appreciate that I felt like I was fully in the world of Harry Potter. I could tell that Universal really put effort into creating the world, and there are hidden details in every storefront that I am sure Harry Potter fans would enjoy. There was a drinking station that served Butterbeer, which to my disappointment was not alcoholic, but rather a sweet and sugary drink. I ordered what the drinking hole called a "Wizard's Brew" which was alcoholic, but imagine my further disappointment when I had a sip and realized that the drink was just Guinness.

In the Harry Potter world, they had the big dragon that would spit out fire at regular timed intervals, and you could really feel the heat coming from that big boy.

The Fast and Furious ride was undoubtedly the worst ride at the park but ride had some replica cars to look at while you wait in line. Each ride usually has a gift shop where the ride itself would lead you upon completion. At the Fast and Furious gift shop, they were selling mass-produced replicas of Dom Toretto's chain. The chain looked so stupid, but I ended up buying one anyways because it was so stupid.

I went to Universal Studios Florida at the time when the park would have their Mardi Gras parade. I got to watch these floats parade around the main area of the park while people on the floats throw Mardi Gras beads to the people below. At least you did not have to flash yourself

Other highlights at Universal Studios Florida include going on many more rides and interacting with the Transformers mascot. All in all, I had a good time back at the park, and I expect to be back at the park in about 20 years time.
